Activities & facilities
I am very proud of my after school provision and I would love share with you all the fun we have.
Bubble Bus currently provides many after school activities such as homework assistance, arts and crafts, cookery, board games, construction toys, large garden with challenging equipment, , puzzles, film nights, swing ball tournaments, computers, team games, and much more!!!
Cooking
Always a big part of the Bubble Bus and I pride myself on the cooking which is produced by the children and cooked for their supper. It is always a popular activity. They are always age-appropriate activities.
We have created so many tasty things from lolly biscuits, making homemade apple crumbles, jam tarts, seasonal chutney, etc and then there is the mixing and making that does not include eating the end result like chocolate play doe and avocado and oatmeal facemasks.
Performing
The children enjoy role play and we have an amazing fancy dress resource, boys and girls all the correct size and style. The children love to put on shows. They re create x factor or Britain’s got talent! This is always great fun for those participating as well as those watching.Playing with children of varied year groups helps them to share, negotiate, and get along with other children.
Games and construction
The children love construction such as Lego, bionicle, board games like chess and twister etc and create the most amazing space ships and cars, with which they then create battles and teams.
Homework & quiet areas
Children can get help at the Bubble Bus with their homework so they do not have to do it when they get home. Some children really like a quiet area after a noisy day at school. At Bubble Bus there is a quiet room.
We also have a room for film nights with popcorn for realism!!
Music
At the Bubble Bus music is very important to me as my own children love to play. We have a mini grand in the main kitchen room which the children who come to me use and enjoy. We have various other instruments such as recorder, old guitar, drums etc
Competitions
The boys and girls love to compete against each others cooking abilities. Points given for taste and visual appearance!!
We’ve had play doe modelling competition, Professional cake decorating and piping, card making and decorating lessons from a professional card lady who sells her cards for a living.
Team games
As I have a lot of children all around the same age group I can organize team games very well of which are often child led.
Three legged races, mini football matches, assault courses around the garden which are timed for added excitement etc.
